JOB DESCRIPTION
Firmware Platform is a department within the Research & Development (R&D) at Axis which is responsible for the development of new functionality in our software platform, in user-space Linux. The Firmware Systemsection consists of three teams; Firmware Architects, Linux System/Event System team and Cross-function team. We have currently open positions in the Linux/Event system team.
As a Software Engineer in our teams, you will be creating, maintaining functionalities and make architectural changes to the software platform. You will be involved in all phases of development - from innovation/first ideas and all the way through design, test and implementation until final release on the market.
The teams work closely with other parts of the R&D organization, both other teams working with firmware development and product development as well as teams working with solutions, applications and services.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe the right candidate has a Master's degree in computer science or equivalent. You have several years of experience as a developer within relevant areas. We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer with skills in C programming, Linux environment and network. It is an advantage if you have experience as Linux system administrator, Gnu tools, code analysis tools and Git.
You enjoy working with a variety of tasks in complex environments and appreciate working and solving technical challenges. Cooperation is a crucial part of Axis' success; thus we believe it is important that you are good at working in teams and have the opportunity to develop through your colleagues. It is also important that you can contribute to a good, productive and innovative working environment. You are a curious and technically-minded person and we expect that you are proactive and take initiatives. As a good communicator you have very good skills in both Swedish and English, written and verbal.
Required experiences:
C coding skills
Familiarity with the Yocto/Bitbake build environment
Using a Linux development environment (Debian)
Comfortable to debug and fix issues in Linux system
Writing Linux bash and Python scripts
