Senior Platform Engineer (Backend, Python)

We’re looking for an experienced platform engineer to help us scale the platform as we grow. You will be part of the platform team and you will be taking features from the idea stage to scalable production deployments. You will work on making highly scalable solutions, get feedback from analytics and monitoring tools and be able to refine and perfect your solution at each iteration.

Tech-wise, our server code is written in Python (Django) and you will be exposed to distributed computing (scalable stack, queue-driven distributed processing), cloud hosting (Amazon), database optimization (MySQL, Redis, MongoDB), search solutions (Sphinx, ElasticSearch), test driven development, load testing, etc.

This role is a good fit for analytical and creative software engineers loving team work. We work closely in a scrum team and follow the motto “team work is better work”. You want to grow and learn from others, and you also want to teach and help others grow.

Requirements

• Passion. You love distributed systems and solving our users’ problems in a smart and scalable way
• 5+ years software development experience
• Demonstrated experience building, maintaining and optimizing large-scale consumer web/mobile applications.
• You have worked in a team of developers and know the benefits of tests, continuous integration, logging and monitoring
• You have experience working in Python or a similar language
• You are a team worker with excellent communication skills
• Fluent (written and verbal) in English
• It’s a plus if you have a passion for health and fitness
• As a person you continuously challenge yourself to find new ways of developing our platform. You have a burning desire to improve and you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get the work done.
