QA Engineer - Big Screens

THE POSITION

As QA Engineer you will strengthen our Big Screen platform through quality assurance of our client applications. The team builds web-based interfaces and contribute to our platforms, APIs and libraries in close collaboration with the other development teams at Viaplay. Our teams are cross functional, and together with other developers, QA and UX you will build and maintain robust and well-structured applications with high demands on reliability. Your work will be a part of Viaplays strategy to grow and continue to bring an innovative first class streaming service to our customers.

THE CHALLENGE AHEAD

In this role you will be responsible for the quality of the teams deliveries as well as automating that process. You will be responsible for the functional testing of new features, regression testing of releases and write automated tests for the applications. We see you guiding your teammates in testing efforts and development of testing suites that you will design and have ownership of.

• Build quality solutions to always deliver the best experience possible to our users.
• Lead your team in the implementation of new processes, testing strategies and test plans
• Responsible for test- or behavior-driven development (TDD/BDD) including supporting frameworks
• Quality assurance of our web apps (JavaScript)

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone with solid experience working as a QA engineer with knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.  In addition to this, we think that you have experience with programming in Javascript. As a person, we think you are a team player capable of acting independently. We also see that you are a structured doer, who is keen to push forward internal development by sharing knowledge and keeping on top of the latest technologies. Furthermore, we believe that you have a focus on details with an end-user mindset, always wanting to create the best experience possible for the customers.

Successful candidates also meet the following requirements:

• Extensive experience with automated testing systems and frameworks, such as Selenium, Pytest, etc.
• Experience in Frontend testing
• Frontend skills (ie. CSS, HTML, JavaScript) and understanding of API:s
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Experience of working with and creating test cases

Bonus requirements that will make you stand out from the rest:

• Experience of working with testing of Big Screens
• Experience from streaming services
• Knowledge of ECMAScript/ES6
