One of the doers we are looking for, is a Machining Physics Developer who wants to join us in building our new portfolio of services and products while working with truly skilled and experienced people. This position is in our brand-new office at Regeringsgatan, in the heart of Stockholm.

Job Summary
In this role, you play a vital part in developing our tech stack by combining your interest for new technology with a passion for solving hard manufacturing problems. You put your extensive knowledge in machining physics to work by developing models, transferring them to code and analyzing and improving existing solutions.

Your responsibilities
• Analyzing and improving existing solutions
• Helping the team deepen the knowledge of physical processes affecting machining
• Working with developers to improve accuracy and quality in existing software
• Contributing in data science projects wherever machining physics play a role
• Help transferring academic models into reusable code components

Your skills and qualifications
You have a BSc or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent knowledge gained from a working career. In addition, you have practical experience working with the following:
• CNC machine tools, including five axis machining centers, turning centers and vertical machining centers
• CMM tools, like MDEA-Global CMM
• MACHPRO and NPRO for NC program optimization
• Modal analysis on machine tools, with data analysis using CUTPRO
• Transferring physics and mathematics based models to reusable software components

As our team at Sandvik CODE is truly international, you have great communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing. Other required skills and experiences are:

• CAD/CAM software (Siemens NX, SolidWORKS, CATIA, Esprit)
• NC code optimizers and analysis tools, like CUTPRO, MACHPRO and NPRO
• Other engineering and scientific software, like Abaqus, Matlab, Mathematica, LabView
• An irrevocable curiosity for new technologies, programming languages and frameworks
