WHAT IS UGGLO?
At Ugglo, we make it possible for kids in pre-schools and schools all across Sweden to improve their reading and language skills with the help of 1 000 audio and picture books directly from any iOS or Android device. We have audio books in more than 30 different languages which is a huge benefit to kids of all backgrounds.
Our customer uses our product because the product makes it easy and fun for kids to learn. The app makes help kids develop their language, which makes it easier for them to both talks about their own experiences and feelings as well as understanding the inner world of each other.
WHAT HAVE WE ACCOMPLISHED?
In the past year, we have developed a product that we are selling to pre-schools, schools, and municipalities in Sweden.
We:
- are logging tens of thousands reading sessions every month
- have great traction with a substantial amount of paying customers already in our first year
- have 1 000 audio and picture books in 30 languages from Sweden’s leading publishing houses
- have been selected to Sting Accelerator, the leading startup accelerator program in the Nordics
sit together with lots of other exciting startups in the heart of Stockholm at the creative and fun SUP46 workspace
WHAT'RE OUR NEXT GOALS?
Our next goals are:
- Improving the product with new features that our customers have requested
- Adding new content to increase our target customer group
- Enter new geographical areas outside of Sweden
WHAT'S YOUR ROLE IN THESE TASKS?
We are looking for someone that is excited about three things:
- Coding. As a back-end developer at Ugglo, the main part of your day (in the first years) will be spent building new features, improving how we extract, analyze and work with our reading data and solving bugs. For instance, making the reading experience more immersive with gamification techniques (where you create the back-end).
- Product development. We are all involved in the decision making about what features to build based on the feedback we receive about the product.
- Building the company and taking a leading role. We believe that it is important to not only ship and sell the product, but also to build a company that is great to work, and that you see your responsibilities growing along with the company.
