Westermo is currently recruiting software developers to join our software team that develops our network operating system WeOS in Västerås.

So, who are we looking for?

We are looking for passionate developers who really enjoys developing software and working in teams. We want you to be part of forming Westermo’s future network solutions together with our R&D team in Västerås, Sweden. Part of our roadmap for the years to come involves development for railway solutions, redundancy protocols, encryption and time sensitive networks.

At Westermo we develop embedded software for our own developed hardware; we develop a Linux based network OS, WeOS, where we integrate a variety of Open Source packages along with a large amount of software we develop from scratch.

As a developer of our networking products, you will primarily be working on development in C on Linux for the WeOS products. To assure the quality of our solutions, we use a risk-based test strategy with an advanced automated test framework. Our automated test framework provides the basis of the risk-based testing that takes place every night, to provide feedback to all our developers. Development is conducted through our development model based on the Agile framework.

As a member of our development team, you are responsible for developing WeOS as well as new tests to verify and validate the changes that you and your team work with. The development of automated test cases is implemented in Python.

The work is mainly about evaluating and implementing new technologies and solutions. At Westermo there is always room for initiative and creativity. In addition to working with WeOS development, we expect you to contribute with ideas of improvements to our processes. Requirements

You are passionate about software development in general and especially want to work on embedded development in Linux and we want you as a candidate to tick some of the boxes below:

• At least a degree in Software Engineering on Bachelor of Science level or equivalent
• Experience from industrial product and software development
• Experienced C programmer in Linux
• Experienced Python programmer
• Experienced in writing shell scripts
• Experienced with Git
• Experienced with network technologies
• Good knowledge in Swedish and English, both written & spoken
