Java Engineer - Sports Team for Leading Gaming Company

Our customer is now looking for a Senior Java Developer to be part of their exciting journey. Joining their Sports team, your goal will be to build the fastest, most engaging, unique and customer friendly Sportsbook on the market. Our customer believes that you have great technical knowledge and a big interest in sports. You will be part of innovating and improving on the underlying Sportsbook platform. You will also be involved in building new services to support one of the most ambitious Sportsbook visions out there.

Their Sportsbook team is responsible for both maintenance and enhancing everything from the user experience down through the full technology stack from frontend to backend. As a team member, you are expected to develop expert knowledge in your team's area and work closely with the product lead and business owners to analyze and implement new functionality. You will take on a leading responsibility for their backend integration with their sportsbook provider. You will also be working closely with technical and business operations, as the sports team is responsible for supporting daily activities within these domains.

Your Responsibilities will include:
- Being heavily involved in architectural efforts to come up with a service infrastructure for supporting the sportsbook vertical, including services for retaining and aggregating user data for personalization features among others.
- Working with business to extend their data warehouse capabilities.
- Working actively with the frontend platform team to create and maintain services for interacting with their frontend stack.
- Working with integrations of 3rd party providers.
- Being a key member and contributor to their personalization initiative.

Our customers platform is the heart of their business. As a member of the sports team, you will be involved in the following parts of the platform:
- Player profile information, monetary accounts, and player data.
- Sports provider integration for their online Sportsbook.
- Integrating with regulatory systems for different markets

Qualifications:
Our customer is looking for a senior software craftsman that has significant experience in Java & backend system development. They expect that you have experience with common Java frameworks such as Spring & JPA and is no stranger to working with relational databases such as MySQL. They would love if you have experience in building highly scalable & fault-tolerant distributed systems and familiar with architecture principles such as microservices, CQRS, EDA & EIP-patterns. Their platform is built mainly in Java but other JVM languages are used, for instance, some sportsbook services are written in Kotlin.

On top of their platform, they have a number of microservices written in node.js, responsible for communication and processing of data between the platform and an API gateway. You should have an interest in working with node.js, and if you have experience that is a clear bonus.
