Developer Advocate

Defold is a cross platform game engine that is used by game teams both outside and within King. The Defold team is currently made up of 15 individuals highly dedicated to creating awesome solutions and having a great time while doing so.

We are looking for passionate developer to join our team in Stockholm. As part of the developer relations team, you will be a critical part of helping game teams get started with Defold and successfully build their games in Defold. In order to do this a big part of your time will be spent creating tech demos as well as extensions that help our users get started. You will also be supporting our users in our forum as well as providing hands-on assistance to our largest clients. You will be working in a dynamic environment with active problem solving through collaboration with various teams.

Your role within our Kingdom

You will among other things:
- Create demo projects that showcase the strength of Defold and describe best practices.
- Develop native extensions for identified user needs.
- Support developers in our support channels with all questions regarding the Defold engine and Editor.
- Participate in training of new Defold users, both within and outside of King.
- Help troubleshooting user issues to identify potential bugs.
- Hold Defold best-practice workshops
- Travel on-site to internal and external studios to assist with support and hold workshops.
- Contribute to the Defold documentation and other resource materials.
- Work together with Defold Product manager to identify future development needs.

Skills to create thrills
- Good programming skills in Lua and experience with one or more of the following: C/C++, Java, Javascript and Objective C.
- A friendly person that can collaborate well both internally and externally
- Not afraid to roll up their sleeves and do tasks high-low based on what is required
- A person that can represent King well as we build out our relationships with more external developers

Bonus points
- Previous experience with Defold.
- Experience of Python and Bash.
