At Storytel we believe that powerful stories add an extra dimension to life. We offer thousands of audiobooks and ebooks to customers in thirteen markets, with several new markets launching in the coming year. Storytel is Northern Europe's largest audiobook streaming service and we are looking to strengthen our markets tech team by adding a Backend Developer.

About the role:

As a developer at Storytel you will work with experienced developers across a wide field of technologies. Our team work with mobile apps development, backend development, Web development, DevOps and more. Our teams are currently working on moving new and existing services to our new cloud platform as well as building new services when needed. Our backend developers are focused on creating new services that are being run on Google Cloud Platform using Docker and Kubernetes. We use a variety of languages including Java, C#, Go, F# and more, and we feel that it gives us a clear advantage to be able to use the right tool for the job.

We are looking for developers that are interested in learning and have an interest in sharing their knowledge. We have a strong sharing culture at Storytel and try to nurture creativity. You will be joining our cross functional markets tech team, where you will be developing features in the areas of payments, sign ups, campaigns and authentication. We have our headquarters on Riddarholmen in Stockholm but our teams are distributed geographically between Stockholm, Lund, Umeå and Copenhagen.

Required skills:

• Experience of coding in Java or C#
• Experience in writing unit tests
• Experience in writing clear, safe and maintainable code
• SQL databases - MySQL, MsSQL or similar
