Thesis work - Test data analysis and representation

Background:

The test department in Köping consists of different teams. We at Fluid Dynamics team perform various tests to improve the lubrication and cooling in driveline units and reduce the oil churning losses. These tests require a thorough understanding regarding the working conditions of units when mounted in a vehicle. The test conditions are designed to consider different risk factors and simulate various driving scenarios for the unit under development. The results obtained from tests have many parameters and it is complicated to compile all the result data in a way that gives a good overview.

The main task of thesis worker will be to understand how the data is logged during test runs, develop an algorithm and script to represent the data in an interpretable way for good overview and reduce the time required for data extraction and analysis.

Assignment description

• Understand the test procedure and take part in testing
• Develop a script to analyze the data from results and present it in an understandable way
• Develop a user interface to run the script
• The script developed should be user friendly

Education: You are self-driven, motivated and strive to work towards the goal. You can work in cross-functional team and are good at communication.

Knowledge in scripting crucial, MATLAB (preferably) or Python.

Understanding of mechanical systems is preferable.
