Android Developer - Volvo Car Mobility

We use the latest tools and languages to build our app and deliver a great experience to the Android devices users. We're looking for a Senior Android Developer to join us and help us build a system for revolutionizing the global car ownership model. As a member of the team you will use your deep understanding of the Android platform to make the mobile experience the best it can possibly be. The work atmosphere is very open and everyone gets to be part of the product we are developing.

Our app handles network streams, bluetooth streams as well as user input streams, and our aim is to handle all this reactively. We also want to be able to scale the app without having it all turn to mushy spaghetti down the road. At this stage we write the building blocks for all this as well as the current features we have in the pipe. We work cross functionally and tightly with backend, UX and UI and test. We sit back to back with the iOS team.

Your responsibilities will include but won’t be limited to:

- Team up on the architecture, and development of our Android application
- Use modern but proven technologies to create an app that will run on multiple devices
- Collaborate with product, UX and other engineering teams to deliver the highest quality mobile experiences to all of our supported devices

What will help you be great:

- Proficiency with the Android framework and its nuances
- Proven experience with RxJava, Dagger and Kotlin
- Knowledge of MVVM application design and architecture
- Exposure to Android testing
- Experience working within an agile environment

Extra awesome if you:

- Have worked with BLE
- Have a higher seniority than we do with a desire to share
- Gained experience within car tech development

You will meet with the Android team and after that we'd like you to sit in with the team during half a day or so, in order for you to get a sense of how we are and how we work.
