Supply Chain Development within IKEA Core Business Supply is responsible for securing that the product offer is produced and delivered to our customers. We lead the supply agenda across many functions and work together with all business areas, different business units, but also retail markets to secure customer availability in all markets and sales channels at lowest total cost. Supply Chain Development is going into the next phase of a great journey. By gathering the end-to-end supply chain development agenda into one organization, embedding process and the development and management of digital solutions into the business, we create the best preconditions for meeting the future with the right competences and business capabilities. By this we will also create the preconditions to a world class supply chain that enable IKEA to efficiently respond to the ever-changing customer needs. The SCD function includes five areas: Sourcing, Design & Planning, Execution, Intralogistics & Market logistics. Additionally, SCD has three assignments to lead and keep together the overarching development in the field of Technology in Supply, Packaging & Identification for total IKEA and the Development Networks to lead collaborative innovation approach around Logistics and Fulfilment. Three support functions will be key to support the whole organization: BN & Portfolio mgmt., Communication and People & Culture. SCD Exercution we develop and embed processes and solutions to support throughout the whole life cycle partnership with a supplier, from potential cooperation to the end of joint business. This comprises all major activities such as sourcing, price management, durability and quality, including claim management. Our support, covering IT tools and adaptation to legal compliance as well as our own rules and regulations, is directed to all IKEA supply units.

We are looking for a Test Lead to Customs team within Execution, Supply Chain Development

Customs is a dynamic area with high business impact. IKEA must be compliant with legal restrictions and regulations in order for goods to flow smoothly across borders keeping our customers all around the world happy.

Customs domain is undertaking a major transformation journey by implementation standardized business processes and solution globally. The transformation journey will take several years to complete.

Customs team within Execution plays an important role for making this happen together with their business stakeholders. Customs team are experts in the systems connected to customs and work with developing new solutions as well as securing the running business.

You will as Test Lead be part of Development area Customs in Älmhult and be responsible for IKEA verification and validation activities within the assigned area and scope. As a Test Lead you make sure that the digital solutions and project releases are delivered with high quality.

Job Description

You will be:

  • Responsible for managing the Test Process within your scope, adoption and execution within the development area and customs related projects.
  • Manage verification and validation activities including managing the acceptance test team, plan and control the acceptance test effort, evaluating and reporting the result.
  • Contribute to creating a solid foundation for the Test process within development area customs and make sure that releases or project deliverables are delivered with expected quality by steering, following-up and verifying that stated acceptance criteria and quality goals are fulfilled.

The assignment

Support definition of Quality objectives and goals (for solutions, IT services and projects).

Support quality assurance of solution requirements; to secure testability, consistency and the acceptance criteria.

Manage; plan, prepare and execute assigned verification and validation (people, process & tools) activities. This includes for example Product Risk Analysis and follow-up, test effort estimations, coordination of test needs, progress reporting.

Evaluation of all test, verification and validation activities with defined KPIs and give recommendations for approval of deliveries, based on stated acceptance criteria, quality objectives and goals.

Responsible for securing Test Process, implementation and adoption within the development area and related projects.

Follow up on the delivered quality in production, such as defect leakage and incidents as input to continuous improvement, risk management and follow-up of cost of quality.

Secure that the operational and infrastructure requirements are considered during planning, preparations and execution of Operational Readiness Test (ORT).

Gather and share lessons learned regarding verification and validation activities

Support the preparation, implementation and follow-up of test related agreements with external partners, projects, solutions etc.

Promote use of test automation where appropriate, such as business flows, smoke tests, regression tests etc.

Qualifications

We believe you have 3-5 years’ experience of test management, in test lead and/or test specialist positions.

We think you have experience of configuration management and is experienced in release and deployment.

We think you have excellent skills in SQL developer.

We believe you have worked with Selenium as test automation tool.

We believe you are experienced in using test development tools, bug reporting systems, have good knowledge of general IT frames e.g., standards, infrastructure and platforms, frameworks, development concepts and processes. It is a plus if you also are familiar with tools used within IKEA.

You are very structured when it comes to test methods and how to manage test environments.

You have excellent analytical skills. You can see the big picture as well as details and to structure information and derive conclusions and consequences out of them.

You are a strong team-player, with ability to connect and build trustful relationships and networks with people internally and externally of IKEA.

You have ability to take leadership, co-operate and coordinate activities across processes, development areas and IT suppliers.

You can work in a dynamic environment where pre-conditions may change from one day to another and where changes need to be delivered with high quality in order to avoid risk of breaking laws and regulations.

Do you have good understanding of IKEA solution landscape within supply chain?

Do you have high knowledge in customs business processes or other supply chain related business processes?

Do you manage English fluently, spoken and written?

We manage a mix of home-built IKEA solutions and bought solutions from providers such as Oracle, Descartes & SAP. Our ambition is to implement common standard platforms.
