Summer internship - Developing plug-ins for monitoring and gathering statistics

our team at SICK Linköping has successfully developed and delivered software for technically leading products within the field of 2D and 3D vision, as well as system solutions for i.e., robot guidance and quality control.
What you will do
The SICK Nova team consist of 15 developers with a mix of experiences, age and gender. The work is being done using agile methodologies having a very tight collaboration with the product managers. We work in a continuous integration (CI) environment with test automation on the target.
SICK Nova is an application that runs on our industrial sensors, that helps users with or without programming knowledge to easily setup and solve their vision applications. Nova consists of Lua scripts running on a programmable sensor, together with a web user interface for configuration and visualization. There is a need for both gathering statistics during runtime, such as temperature, memory usage and average execution time, but also offline, where a user will test out if their configuration works well on a set of recorded images. The summer internship will be about to gathering information and summarize it from our Nova application.
If you have an interested in programming, user experience, curious about how modern applications that runs industrial cameras works and want to be a part of our continuous improvement’s efforts, you are warmly welcome to contribute!
What you need
- You have finished at least your bachelor’s degree at university level with a relevant profile such as Applied Physics, Software Development, Computer Science or Media Technology.
- You will benefit from having experiences within web development in Angular/Typescript and scripting languages such as Lua/Python.
