Are you a motivated, talented Engineer who wants to contribute to the success of our wireless communication and positioning technologies in the automotive and industrial business?

We are building a new team in the EMEA region and are looking for engineers specialized in electronics design or embedded systems and experienced with at least one of these technologies: Cellular (LTE, 5G), Short-Range (WIFI, Bluetooth), or GPS/GNSS.

In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently bringing to market u-blox products by supporting directly major customers and our Field Application Engineering teams in all aspects of technical problem resolution. You will help improve our existing products and create new products by collecting and examining market feedback. Thanks to the training and education you will provide, you will also ensure the high technical competence of our Field Application Engineers and the Sales team in general.

You will be reporting directly to our Regional Technical Director within the sales organization. Due to the important cross-functional activities of this role, you will also work in close collaboration with our development engineering teams in Europe, sharing customer specific progress and needs.  

The role can be located in Espoo, Finland, in Malmö, Sweden, or in Berlin, Germany.
 
Your Responsibilities
  • Lead key customer design support activities
  • 2nd level support working between Field application engineers and the various R&D departments.
    • Technical questions & Investigations
    • Customer technical workshops
    • Design review services (SW & HW)
  • Expert support for debug / troubleshooting
    • Coordinate issue replication and resolution between FAEs and product development teams, provide technical guidance and recommendations
    • Onsite customer support on request
  • Customer specific Measurements / Characterization
  • Blueprints/Ref designs/Example code/demos for regional need
  • Technical training of regional FAEs
  • Regional “How To’s” on specialized products

Your Skills and Experience
  • Education in electronics, electrical or computer engineering or equivalent experience
  • Several years’ work experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Software engineering, Linux kernel, Android, embedded systems
    • GPS/GNSS technologies like in ADR, Timing, PPP, A-GNSS domains
    • Cellular (LTE) and/or Short-range technologies like in Wi-Fi and BT
  • Strong problem-solving skills      
    • Experience embedded HW&SW debugging skills on real time operating systems.
    • Experience in C/C++/C#/Perl/Python programming.
    • Experience to use embedded tools (emulators/JTAG-debuggers)
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and events in domestic and international locations
  • Customer needs-oriented, ability to quickly understand the system architecture of customer's application, and advise field application engineers or key customer on technical possibilities
  • Good English communication and interpersonal skills
