Volvo Cars Connected Car is a Digital Development department within Volvo Cars that drives the development of Volvo Cars' Connected Car solution. We are responsible for the cloud platform and services that provides telematics and infotainment services to the connected Volvo cars. Connected Car is also responsible for digital products provided to the Car and its users. Among those the well-known Volvo On Call, Sensus, Environmental and Active Safety features.
What do we offer
Connected Car will grow its Digital Development capabilities to support new cloud functions needed for Autonomous Drive, Electrical Propulsion, Active Safety and many Customer facing digital products. Additionally the continuously growth of the number of connected cars and the increased Security and Privacy focus brings new demand to the cloud platform. The development and operation is performed in close collaboration with both our internal design departments and external suppliers in a dynamic and international environment.

We are looking for SW Developers ranging from junior to senior to Connected Car in Lund, Sweden.
What you´ll do
The SW developer role will focus on stepwise implementation of new cloud functionality together with his or her agile team members in close co-operation with the Agile Product Owner and Scrum Master. If you are a Senior SW developer you will also use your expertise and experience to mentor and coach others on your team, understand the goals of the team, particularly in terms of outcomes or metrics, and have an idea on how the team can deliver software more effectively.
The agile teams implement new cloud functionality within areas including Autonomous Drive, Active Safety, Electric Propulsion, Remote Vehicle Services, Infotainment and Authentication/Authorization. The teams are also responsible for the cloud infrastructure and the platform that will host the different services and applications.
Do you fit the profile?
In order for you to fully enjoy this job we think that you have genuine interest in cloud software development, and specifically in back end application and service development. We encourage ideas on how the team can deliver software more effectively and thus value communicative and collaborative skills. If you are a senior developer we anticipate you have valid experience to be a team cloud software development expert while at the same time being a strong individual contributor.
We see that you have following education:
• BSc degree or higher in engineering, or equivalent experience
• Master the English language both spoken and in writing
Technologies:
* Realtime Micro service architecture in a cloud and virtualization environment
* Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra, AWS
* Geospatial processing
* Information modelling and architecture
* Communication networks and Integration Architecture/Patterns
* Vehicle telematics domain
* Java development
* Version control, build & deploy tooling - Git, Maven, eclipse
