Since 2012, Vidispine has been integrating AI/ML services to its award-winning products for video management. Now we are taking the next step, by introducing the services in our Vidinet SaaS service. Your role is to implement metadata model and integration to AI services that can handle thousands of hours of video. You are probably used to write software that handles very large data volumes. At the same time, our customers cover several industries, so the services we provide should be intuitive and ... self-learning. You will be part of a team in Umeå that will work on metadata, AI, ML, and cloud. Buzzwords, true, but the team are creating services that are for real!

Vidispine is a fast-growing IT company with offices in Kista and Umeå. We develop advanced systems for video and image management, powering large media production systems around the globe. The base of our business is an API-based video platform that our customers build into their video production workflows. The Vidispine platform powers production systems on all continents of the world, serving thousands of users with millions of files. We have been awarded the DI Gasell award for being one of the fastest growing companies in Sweden during last year.

Your Role
You will be working as a backend developer mainly with Java where you will further be enhancing the Vidispine API and adding new AI integration services. Responsibilities include:

- Building reusable code for a future use. We have put it a few hundred man-years of effort in the code base. No spaghetti code here!

- Writing code for maximum speed and scalability. Each customer stores millions of media assets in our systems. Each asset can be in the petabyte range.

- Write secure code for maximum data protection. The customer's data can be the next blockbuster.

- Implement solutions that can run natively on the cloud as well as on-premise.

Who are you
You are a creative person that wants to drive the company and the products that you are working on, forward. You are driven and independent, and like taking on new challenges and learning new techniques and tools. You have experience with both backend and frontend web development, either as you have a few years of work experience, or because you enjoy programming and do so already.

Team R&D
The R&D team is in charge of four of our products, Vidispine Server, our API-based media asset management platform; Vidixplore, our software as a service offering for content management in the browser; Vidispine Development Toolkit, a toolkit for developers who want to build applications on top of Vidispine; and Vidinet, media services as a service that scales from trial to global implementations. An awesome team, working with cool technologies and work tasks.
