Cloud Engineer to Devtools Team

Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.

At Infrastructure Services, the “Devtools team” is responsible to deliver a service of software development tools to the IT developers community at Scania. Our users are transferring towards solutions that support a modern and efficient way of working using the latest technology and methodology. This includes Agile working methods, DevOps, Open Source and Cloud. The field is being developed continuously and there is an opportunity to learn a lot and create new paths and routines. We follow and participate in the development to help the users in their goal.

We are now looking for a Cloud Engineer that can participate in our efforts to transform our tool portfolio from a on prem solution service to a cloud-based environment. If you are interested in thinking in new paths and creating new solutions this could be the right challenge for you.

Your responsibilities

Our service is the basis for our users to in turn create secure and business-critical systems. As a member of our team you will play an important role to ensure the service meet the expectations but also develops in the desired direction. The learning and exploring of new tools and techniques is part of the job.

Even if we are aiming towards the cloud we are also responsible to take care of the legacy of “on prem” tools. We will have an overall responsibility for an architecture of hybrid solutions a long time to come so you are also responsible to handle that. 

You will also play an important role to communicate, guide and inform our users on how the service works through different channels, like community meetings, writing instructions, making instruction videos, advice education, etc.

Your profile

You have experience from software development from Java and/or .Net area. You are also experienced from work with automation and scripting. It is a merit if you have experience from cloud and even better from AWS. 

• You have experience of agile working methods and knowledge of DevOps mindset.
• Commitment and drive to develop, deliver, simplify and improve together with others.
• You are curious and problem-solving oriented.
• You have excellent communication skills.
• You love to share your knowledge & ideas and act as an influencer/evangelist of our DevOps toolchain service.
• Experience from working in an international environment with several different nationalities and cultures.

Our team and our responsibilities

Within our service we are currently responsible for tools like JIRA, GitHub, GitLab, Artifactory, Perforce and Visual Studio. Our aim is to make it easier for our users to use “our toolchain” service instead of having their own. We are also the centre of excellence for adoption and usage of the service. To our help to maintain and support the tools in the service we use our partner LTI.
