Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.

OAS (Object and Structure tool) is Scania’s in-house developed PDM (Product Data Management) system. OAS is a core system which enables Scania’s modular approach when building vehicles by housing product data, structures and support for lifecycle management. OAS supports multiple business areas and is used everything from Research and Development to Sales and marketing.

The OAS organization consists of product owners, business analysts, developers, testers and much more. Currently there are six development teams working with OAS. The frontend team consists of 8 people, including developers, scrum-master, user experience designer and technical writer whom further develop OAS. The team is involved in the entire system development process, from concept development to implementation and maintenance.

Your Responsibility:

As a part of the agile front-end development team, you will be responsible for a wide scope of activities.

Primarily to develop and execute software tests in order to identify software problems and their causes. It's your job to work as hard as you can to 'break' the new product to help the design process. You'll work closely with the rest of the team and product owner to understand more about what each feature is meant to do, how it should work and who will use it.

You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches by assessing software quality through mainly automated testing. The ultimate goal is to iron out any bugs and improve the quality of the finished product. Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.

Your Profile:

In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. If you are also competent in executing test cases and are passionate about quality, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications and systems work correctly.

The technical profile we are looking for is:

• Experience testing frontend applications, preferably single page applications such as Angular and React applications.
• Able to design, build, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions using Selenium, Protractor and Jenkins.
• Used to working with version handling system such as Github or equivalent.
• Report bugs/issues from test execution for achieving high quality.
• Programming experience is strongly desired.
• Coordinating review of test objectives with appropriate stakeholders.
• Experience with Agile or iterative/incremental software development methods such as Kanban or Scrum.
• Driving innovation and manage testing development needs within a fast paced, agile environment

We expect applicants to be organized, have a strong analytical capability and a service-minded approach with a focus on quality. To be successful in this role you will also need to have good communication skills and feel comfortable working closely with several parties within the business. Also being capable of working independently, adapting to changing circumstances and working productively in a pressurized environment is necessary.

You have a degree in computer science or similar degree, complemented with 3+ years’ experience as a tester and a significant interest in IT. As the corporate language is English, the position requires the ability to speak, write and understand English at a high level.

We offer:

You will be joining one of our six teams and, together with requirement analysts, architects and developers, will be responsible for the overall delivery to our customers and users.

OAS technically is divided into multiple layers. The system is built upon Oracle database. OAS handles s lot of data and performs complex queries, so in order to reach desired performance Oracle Coherence is used. Oracle Coherence is a cache layer that store frequently used data and reduce response time. The data is exposed through API:s developed in Java and are used both by external consumers and internally. The frontend consists of multiple AngularJS and Angular apps. What distinguishes OAS frontend from many other web applications is the use of the HATEOAS architecture where the data specifies what operations can be performed on the data in the frontend.

We strive for self-sufficient teams that take responsibility for their results and we now have an urgent need to develop and enhance our ability to ensure the quality of our deliveries to Scania. The right person for this position will have significant opportunities to influence both their own development and our methods.

In addition to an exciting career, we offer a competitive salary and other benefits, such as a company car that you can privately lease, performance bonuses, a pension plan, flexible working hours, lunch at reduced prices and much more.
