React DeveloperWe're looking for someone who cares about crafting well engineered interfaces to solve complex problems in an elegant way.What is DonnaDonna is a rapidly growing start-up that makes contract language more understandable and accessible. Our product helps users navigate within documents, highlights problems with their content and suggests changes. Think of it like the tools that developers have had access to for years: linters, auto-completion and snippets, accessible as you type. But where developers use editors that are easily extendable, such as Vim or VS Code, lawyers use Microsoft Word.Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept ItWe’ve built up a lean and flexible React component library. It uses styled system [1] to combine the best of utility-first CSS (like Tailwind [2]) with React’s CSS-in-JS paradigm. We also transitioned to React-Hooks [3] and functional components [4] to make it easier to read and share behaviours across building blocks. And we fully embraced TypeScript [5] and grpc-web [6] to end the “I can’t remember what is in this blob of JSON”-hell once and for all.These improvements have not yet propagated to all parts of our product. To get you started we would love your help to refactor the hooks, components and themes so that they can easily be shared with other systems. This will also bring you up to speed with some of the other products that we are working on such as the user/billing dashboard as well as some internal tools to help with labeling data and training our AI. You will also be challenged with finding more ways in which we can craft beautiful, well engineered and clean code.Once you’re up to speed you will be working closely together with our designers, backend-engineers and most importantly our users on designing and integrating new features. We’re always working on a few experimental projects to quickly test a new idea and see what challenges we would run into. When an idea looks promising we’ll collaborate on designing the API’s, UX and Marketing. We would also love your perspective on any area that you are interested in, not just relating to the front-end code.As you grow confident into our team you will take responsibility to ensure that ideas are turned into clean and performant experiences for our users. Designing systems so that we can easily test, analyze and tweak the code after it is released.
