Performance Engineer

Klarna is one of Europe's fastest growing companies. To keep our rapid growth we need to ensure that our systems and infrastructure are proven and optimized for performance, capacity, scalability and stability. We are looking for a Performance Engineer to join our Performance, Capacity and Reliability Engineering team in one of Europe?s fastest growing cities, Stockholm.

You are a Performance Engineer who loves to code. You have strong analytical and planning skills and broad experience across performance and load testing system design, tools, monitoring, infrastructure and data management. You are probably working in a large-scale distributed computing environment today.

What is your mission? Resolve difficult performance and scalability issues by improving our code base performance and reducing resource consumption and latency. You will work with teams that design and build our platforms, components and applications to identify risk and failure scenarios and provide input into the architecture, scalability and testability.

Checklist

Strong coding and scripting ability (We mostly use Erlang, Java and Ruby)
Broad experience across performance and load testing system design, tools, monitoring, infrastructure and data management
Experience with relational databases, NoSQL datastores and caching systems
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, networking topology, routers, switches and network packet sniffers
Solid experience of performance optimization of Java, JVM performance tuning, GC, knowledge of thread and heap dump analysis
Experience with APM software and profiling tools
Experience of implementing performance engineering in a progressive Agile/SOA/Continuous Delivery environment

Bonus skills

If you know your way around Erlang that would be a big plus.
Experience with Cloud environments, Hadoop, Zookeeper, HBase, Oracle, Riak, Rabbit MQ, Git and Splunk
