Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Are you a MSc graduate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field who is curious and passionate about cutting-edge AI solutions for Autonomous Driving?

As a development engineer in the AI Technologies group at ATS research you will be developing the machine learning technologies and workflows we need to enable automated driving in complex driving environments.

ATS Research is part of Scania’s research organisation working on sustainable transport solutions for the future. The work is done in close cooperation with Volkswagen group, leading technology suppliers and academic institutions. We take responsibility for creating a better and greener environment by finding answers to the questions on how we can achieve radically reduced emissions, manage the negative effects of ongoing urbanisation and save human lives in traffic.

Your work duties
You will be a development engineer joining our existing AI technologies team. Tasks include developing methods to obtain training data for machine learning applications, developing and evaluating deep neural networks as well as defining the necessary infrastructure for this work. We work with both local high performance computing resources and cloud solutions.

Your profile
Your curiosity and hunger for innovation constantly drives your willingness to develop and improve the environment that you work in. You, as an individual, have a drive to constantly develop and learn new technology.

On the technical side, you have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. You need to have a strong mathematical background, solid programming competence, and very good communication skills, both in written and spoken English.

Ideally you have some experience in working with and implementation of Machine Learning algorithms, e.g., during your Master thesis or via an industrial project. You have good working knowledge of Python and C++ as well as Vision and Machine Learning libraries like OpenCV, TensorFlow, Keras, and Scikit-Learn.
