Front-end Developer (JavaScript) - Flightradar24

Flightradar24 is looking for an experienced Front-end Developer with extensive JavaScript development experience. You will play an important role in modernizing and developing the Flightradar24 website, and your work will improve the experience of millions of users every day.What you'll doCollaborate with a small team of developers and product owners on JavaScript and web developmentBe a lead contributor to the work on modernizing our website and developing and maintaining a new modern lightweight JavaScript layerDeliver modern, testable and maintainable codeDevelop features in website projects, using current web technologies including for example JavaScript / ES6, HTML5, CSS3, and Vue.jsParticipate in development and maintenance of Node.js APIs supporting the website and API servicesParticipate in knowledge sharing and mentoring for other developers in your teamWho you areAt least 4 years experience of modern web developmentKnowledge of modern and standards-compliant JavaScript development, i.e. ES6 and aboveKnowledge of current web technologies including JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, and tools like Webpack and GulpKnowledge of responsive design practices, delivered cleanly and consistently across a wide variety of platforms, browsers and devicesNatural focus on high standards, quality, testing and unit testing, and tools like Karma and JasminePrevious work experience interacting with APIs through AJAX/JSON, and ideally also Google Maps APIs or APIs of other map providersFamiliarity with, or interest in, automated testing, continuous integration, and cloud deploymentExperience with high-performance web delivery, optimizing front-end code, page-load performance and caching is a strong plusExperience in developing REST APIs in Node.js and/or modern PHP development is meriting but not a requirementStrong written and spoken English - Swedish is not needed for this roleAbout Flightradar24With over 2 million daily users, Flightradar24 is the world’s most popular flight tracking service and our apps regularly top the App Store and Google Play charts. We also offer a wide range of commercial services and customers include many of the largest names in aviation. We're constantly adding new services and improving existing products.
