We believe that privacy is fundamental to a well-functioning society where norms, ethics, and laws can safely be discussed and challenged. That same society cannot flourish and develop - nor can it exist - without privacy. This is why we provide a VPN service: because privacy is paramount, and apparently not only to us. The (https://mullvad.net/en/) community is growing, and so are we. This is why we, together with Oddwork, are on the hunt for an experienced Frontend Developer. Would you like to make internet censorship and mass surveillance ineffective? Good, because that is why we get up in the morning.
About the position as Frontend Developer
Hello future colleague, and welcome to our App Team. Welcome to a team and company that lives for user security. So, we provide our users with an open source VPN client that circumvent censorship and protects against leaking information. We're always striving to improve the VPN service even further. With your skills in TypeScript and React, and focus on our Electron desktop frontend, we hope to reach new heights. This is a cross platform frontend and you will work with the big three: Windows, Linux and macOS. You will also work with user interface development on mobiles as well. Do you have native OS GUI library knowledge? Wow. We could need that further down the road so tag along!
We are looking for you...
who’s driven by the cause and has a huge passion for transparency. And you know that trust is a fragile thing, difficult to build, easy to lose. Now, you want to blaze the trail with us and develop the most secure and easy to use VPN service. Further, you have experience with TypeScript and React. Maybe you have used Electron to build Uis before
Our three wishes:
- React/Redux experience
Bonus skills we would value:
- Electron familiarity and experience
- Native desktop GUI experience (Any platform or framework. For example Qt, Cocoa, GTK or similar)
- Mobile GUI experience (Android and/or iOS)
What Mullvad offers you
Privacy and freedom. As we breathe for the universal right to privacy, we also believe in life outside of work. That’s why we offer flexible working hours, €500 annually in allowances toward wellness-related activities, 25 days of annual paid vacation and the possibility to work remotely for extended periods of time. We also offer opportunities for growth aside from company-initiated opportunities for attending various national and international conferences. In addition, we’ll pay for any reading material you feel contributes to your professional development. But what we really offer - how we say hi in the morning, how long it takes for a fresh brew of coffee until it’s out and what, we think best accompanies sparkling wine (one of our newest tradition), all those answers, you’ll have to find out for yourself. And we can’t wait for you to do those discoveries!
