Linux System Administrator

The position
Ignitia AB has a vacancy for a Linux System Administrator Programmer in Stockholm, Sweden, to work within a technical team of 4 members. Main duties will include:

- Improve the overall efficiency and robustness of our current super computer system, maximising reliability and performance.
- Improve security
- Design a back-up solution for catastrophic events (supercomputer crash)
- Design and setup an archiving and data back-up solution
- Develop a technical specification for, and design our next generation supercomputer
- Maintain and perform development tasks on an Ubuntu 64 server that hosts web applications and different data streams.
- Set up a unified company computer system (central archive etc)

Qualifications
We expect you to have some experience or be able to develop new skills in:

- Parallel computers and computing
- Linux environment (Redhat, Debian, Ubuntu etc)
- Database management
- Scripting languages such as Shell, Perl and Python
- Server security management
- Web applications (Apache, MySQL, GIS tools)

In addition you should:
- Be able to work efficiently both independently and in our technical team
- Be flexible, but able to maintain focus under rapidly changing work tasks and time pressure
- Be able and willing to learn new programming languages and open source software tools
- Have a positive attitude
- Have good written and communication skills

Location
Stockholm, Sweden with travel to Ghana
