Connected Intelligence is a group within Connected Systems at Scania R&D. In the context of connectivity, we innovate and deliver scalable analytics that enable informed decision making for product, service and business developers.

Assignment
We are now hiring code craftswomen and men that want to be a part of developing end-to-end analytics solutions in the context of 400 000+ connected Scania vehicles. We need to build infrastructure to collect and process large amounts of data, democratize data and information through services, develop new algorithms, and apply conventional algorithms in new and ground-breaking ways.

Our aim is to work in cross functional teams that deliver repeatable and quality assured results through self-sustained analytics services. We work on a wide range of tasks, ranging from detective work in root cause analysis for field quality investigations, to flagship data science projects supporting the business development of automation an electrification with insights from our current fleet. Our common motivation is working for a bigger picture and  collaboration, innovation and exploration are common drivers.

Since the focus on scalability and delivery is expanding from smaller initiatives to being a natural part of our regular business, you will have a great degree of freedom in forming the solutions and technology stack that will be applied. Our current tool set involve a number of AWS capabilities as well as SQL, Scala, Python, PowerBI, SAS and more.

Your profile
You have an academic degree in a computer science related field, or the equivalent work experience. In addition:

• You approach complex challenges by finding short-term goals that take you closer one step at the time, and find the means to validate assumptions and continuously deliver value as you go along.
• You are a programmer accustomed to utilizing different paradigms depending on the nature of the problem, and you understand that architecture is about trade-offs and you can weigh the pros and cons.
• You have understood that software development on some levels resembles a factory process where repetitive moments can be automated and that the degree of automation is a good (often the best) measure of the delivery. Continuous improvement of the development process is therefore a natural priority.
• You perceive installing, running and monitoring software in production as an obvious part of the development work. . As a starting point, we expect that you will expand the teams competence coverage of automation tools and that you might have worked with some of the more common tools such as Git, Nexus / Artifactory, Linux, Ansible / Puppet, Docker, Jenkins, Apache Spark, and Bash.

Experience from the areas data streaming, geospatial analytics and/or cloud software development is meritorious.
