Yepstr is now looking for an exceptional AD / UX lead who is ready to take the helm and be a driving force in our product development team. Someone who is passionate about developing strategies based off of insights of real people, has the mastery of their craft to turn these insights into beautifully designed product (both interactions and visuals) and really inspire the organization by showing/prototyping what is possible before it is built.

The moment you step through the door, you enter as part of the core team – one of our first four. You will be a part of building the teams and the culture for a company that will double and double and double again in very short time. Complete ownership and responsibility from day one.

So – what would be my role?

As our Senior AD / UX lead you are essentially the CTO’s right hand. We will put complete faith in your ability to develop the vision and ultimately the product that connects with our users on a deeper level.

Being responsible for generating and interpreting input from our users and converting it into compelling design is one of the most critical roles, and expectations will be high from day one. We envision you being able to make rapid, rough sketches to show your vision – but also able to methodically enhance something until it is pixel perfect. But that is not all, in addition to being an excellent UX artist you will also need to be extremely versatile and used to quickly adapting to new situations and challenges.

As an example, during your first few days you will be the first port of call for all brainstorming activities, working together with both the CEO and the CTO to define guiding principles for the development team such as the user flow, the design but also the copy. The prototype is complete but there is still ample opportunity to build something from scratch.

Once the first bricks have been laid down you will begin to assist with recruiting the team that will deliver the final MVP. This will require good people skills but also a solid understanding of yourself – where you excel and what you need assistance with.

Once the MVP is generating user data like no tomorrow, you will be the in the driving seat once more – leading the development of the V1 – the architectural masterpiece built for rapid, global scaling and large user numbers that works seamlessly across multiple platforms. The deal

In addition to being part of the ride of your life, selected candidates will receive an offer including both salary and an employee stock option program.

However make no mistake –we will most likely slash your current salary in half and ask you to leave that fancy office to join us in the rusty shoebox we call home / the office.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you’re a fantastic designer and communicator who really enjoys building things. We think you are inspired by working with highly motivated and intelligent people and we think you enjoy a high working tempo. You prefer to be challenged and you’re prepared to take some risk if the reward is worth it. You most likely enjoy experimenting once in a while – trying a new approach or a new tool – and you’re not afraid to fail as it always brings new insight.

Furthermore, you don’t mind taking some time off after a major deliverable to pull together the team and discuss what was done well and what could be done better. You enjoy variation and you’re prepared to put in the hard yards when that’s required, and you’re not afraid of kicking back and celebrating a job well done.

You’re experienced with a wide range of different web-technologies and have designed both mobile apps and websites that have gone live.

For you to feel really confident in your work you prefer to use a mixture of user-generated data and A/B tests as well as face to face input such as focus groups, and interviews to name some examples.

You’re passionate about creating a near-perfect user experience, and you are able to apply the 80/20 rule when it comes to design. Sometimes ‘pixel perfect’ can wait!

We consider it a large bonus if you have some form of previous programming experience so that you can communicate and understand the technical team. Most preferably javascript, CSS and modern libraries such as Angular, Node.js etc. Maybe you’ve played around a bit with React?
