Yepstr is now looking for an exceptionally talented developer who is ready to grab the helm and be a driving force in our product development team. You will join as one of yepstr’s first four team members, and will be a part of laying the foundation that the business will be built on. Total ownership and responsibility from day one.

So – what would be my role?

As yepstr’s Senior Back-end Lead you are essentially the CTO’s right hand. We will depend on you for providing input into and delivering the technical vision as effectively as possible.

You will have one of the most critical roles within yepstr from the second you walk in through the door. Your role will also continuously develop as the company grows, so it is important that you are versatile and can handle change and growing demands.

As an example – you will be the trusted advisor and brainstorming partner of the CTO and help define the future technical platform of yepstr. Although the prototype exists there are still large opportunities to influence language selection, framework, development methodology, tools etc.

After the foundation is set you will assist with recruiting the team that will deliver the MVP. Since you will be coaching several of them you will also have final say in who comes onboard and who doesn’t. Once the team starts to mine actual user data you will lead the development of the V1 – the architectural masterpiece built for rapid, global scaling and large user numbers that works seamlessly across multiple platforms. The platform that will take yepstr global.

The deal

In addition to being part of the ride of your life, selected candidates will receive an offer including both salary and an employee stock option program.

However make no mistake –we will most likely slash your current salary in half and ask you to leave that fancy office to join us in the rusty shoebox we call home / the office.

Skills & Requirements

We believe you are an experienced, dependable developer who prefers a high working tempo and enjoys learning from other exceptionally driven people. You like working with a team and are used to working agile and test-driven. You like to experiment and you are not afraid of trying new things and learning from mistakes. You enjoy taking some time off after a major deliverable and discussing with your team members what went well and what could be improved for next time. You enjoy variation and have examples of times in your life when you’ve had to make radical changes to your approach to be effective. When you’re passionate about something you often end up pouring yourself into the task, making the keyboard glow like fire. At the same time you’re able to relax and kick back to celebrate a job well done.

You are experienced in different web technologies and can choose the right tool for the right purpose whether it’s databases, infrastructure, programming languages or libraries. You have a good understanding for data structures and algorithms as well as how to apply them to design pragmatic solutions.

We consider it a great advantage if you in addition have experience of writing scalable and safe solutions, customer applications, front-end design or app- development for iOS/Android (via phoneGap) since MVP will most likely be mobile-based.
