System developer for Concept and marketing simulators

Your role

As a team member in Concept and marketing simulators, you will be working with new system design on different levels of the aircraft simulation. Beyond that, you will work with supporting current systems that are in operation. There will be a lot of problem solving, learning and investigating to reach the goal to make the Gripen system efficient and successful. A large part of the Gripen avionics software is included in a development simulators This means that you will over time acquire significant knowledge about the Gripen aircraft and its avionics system, even though the pool of knowledge will never stop feeding your curiosity. As a developer of concept and marketing simulators you will be given the opportunity, at times, to travel with the marketing simulators acting as an operator and tech support, when the simulators are participating in marketing activities in Sweden and abroad.

Your profile

We work in a Unix/Linux based development environment and use C, C++, Bash, Python and Git. Naturally, there is a big advantage that you are proficient in these tools. However, if you work comfortably in most of them, that is not a problem.

As the name development simulators suggest, the way forward in some areas are under development, therefore we see that you need to adapt to new ideas and solutions and be a part of creating them.

Your personal characteristics and drive are very important to us and may outweigh pre-existing knowledge and experience.

As this position includes work with classified defence information, it is required that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.

We develop simulators, rigs, and support systems for all product development phases (concept, marketing, development and validation). The department also develops its own products: training simulators for pilots and technicians. Within the department we have all the engineering knowledge required to design, develop, produce and deliver products, and to provide training for the products and systems.
