Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.

About the role:

We are actively seeking an additional front-end developer for our OAS (Object and Structure tool) development team. OAS is Scania’s in-house developed PDM (Product Data Management) system – the core system that enables Scania’s modular approach when building vehicles by housing product data, structures and support for lifecycle management.

As a developer in one of our Agile teams you will be developing single page front-end applications that interface with OAS through HATEOAS. You will be responsible for providing high quality, maintainable and feasible technical solutions to fulfil the users’ needs. In addition, you will work in close cooperation with product and process owners on issues relating to functional requirements – both short and long term.

Your Profile:

You have a passion for web development, advocate an Agile approach to software development and have several years of work experience within the area. You can drive innovation and manage development needs within a fast paced, Agile environment. You are a team player but are also capable of working independently.

You have a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills and you enjoy taking on new challenges. You have good communication skills and feel comfortable working closely with different groups within the business.

Most importantly, you love to explore and increase your knowledge!

Technically, you:

• have a degree in computer science or similar, and/or equivalent experience
• have extensive knowledge of web development technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• have extensive knowledge and experience in developing single page front-end applications using frameworks such as Angular or React.
• are able to understand and evaluate different architectural patterns and designs, depending on the task at hand.
• are familiar with Agile-based iterative/incremental software development methods, such as Kanban or Scrum.
• have worked with version control systems, such as Git.
• are proficient in written and spoken English.

Architectural skills, experience with automatization tools, and proficiency in written and spoken Swedish are significant pluses.

We offer:

At Scania, our focus is on providing our employees with a long-term career facilitated by individual personal development plans. You will have the freedom to steer your growth regardless of your ambition to become a specialist or a generalist. In addition to an exciting career, we offer benefits such as flexible working hours, performance bonuses, lunch at reduced prices, car leasing, a pension plan, and much more.
