ART Architect/Engineer – Remote Control/ Volvo On Call, Consumer Digital OWN

Who we are:
Volvo Cars Consumer Digital OWN is a Digital Development department within Volvo Cars that drives the development of Volvo Cars' Connected Car solution. We are responsible for the cloud platform and services that provide telematics and infotainment services to the connected Volvo cars, such as the well-known Volvo On Call, Sensus, and Active Safety features. The development is done in a human-centric mindset using Agile/DevOps practices.
What we offer
Volvo Cars Consumer Digital will grow its Digital Development capabilities to support new cloud functions needed for Autonomous Drive, Electrical Propulsion and many Customer-facing digital products. Additionally, the continuous growth of the number of connected cars and the increased focus on Security and Privacy brings new demands to the cloud platform. The development and operation are performed in close collaboration with both our internal design departments and external suppliers in a dynamic and international environment.

What you´ll do
We are looking for an ART Architect (Corresponding to what we traditionally call System Architect) and Engineer who operates in the context of Connectivity/Remote Control ART. You will work close to the teams and may be a part of one of the dev teams which enables you to gain continuous insights valuable in your work as ART Architect. Your role as ART Architect includes:
• Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the program content and explore alternatives focusing on your ARTs scope, Remote Control, Connectivity, Volvo On Call.
• Work with solution stakeholders, particularly the other Solution and System Architects, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enabler epics
• Work with customer’s interest, stakeholders, and suppliers to establish high-level system design, help establish the system design information models and documentation requirements
• Establish non-functional requirements at the program level, and participate in the definition of others
• Supervise and foster Built-In Quality, e.g provide testable architectural solutions
• Member of Solution Architecture Governance Team

In order for you to fully enjoy this job we believe that you are a technically competent and interested person with good communication skills. You embrace the needed teamwork with the solution and product managers. Experience from working in or with vehicle program is a clear advantage to succeed in this role but if that is not the case, we will help you to succeed if you have the right mindset. We also want to see that you have recent experience from working with System Engineering or similar.
We see that you have following education:
• BSc degree or higher in engineering, or equivalent experience
• Master in the English language both spoken and written

Skills:
• Modern cloud service architecture, e.g. micro-services
• Knowledge of car to cloud communication is preferable
• Identity and Access Management, e.g. OpenID
• Database sources such as Cassandra and SQL
• Application Integration with MQ, Kafka etc.
• Java experience
• Mobile networking
• Collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
• System Engineering, preferably from building business logic in the cloud domain
• Strong analytical skills
