Software Engineer Automation and Simulation

Skilled Software Engineers within Automation and Simulation at Kockums, provide for submarine crews everyday life runs smooth and safe! Our submarines includes complex integrated systems necessary for the operation and survival of the crew. Your role

We are looking for a software engineer to work with development of our automation and simulation tools. You will be working with design and development of automation software that helps the crew monitoring and managing the systems onboard their ships.
This will include working with some of the following tasks:

* Design and development of the automation and simulation tools
* Development of software in a real-time environment, C, C# & structured text
* Development of user interface and communication in Java
* Debugging and trouble shooting
* Documentation of functionality

The automation teams operates from both Malmö, Helsingborg and Karlskrona and some work travels between these sites is required. Your days will be varied working both from the office and occationally out on site onboard our subs.

Your profile

We are looking for a person that is analytical and with excellent coding skills. You are also pragmatic and flexible with attention to detail.

Required skills:

* Bachelor/Master degree in engineering or similar work experience
* Excellent coding skill
* Previous experience from developing software for automation systems
* Knowledge about contemporary software development standards, principles and best practices
* Good communication skills in Swedish and English, oral and written

Desired skills:

* Real time systems design and development
* C, C++
* C#
* Java
* PLC programming
* Linux and Windows environment
* Driving license

This position requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.

The Automation & Simulation team develops monitoring and control systems that integrate all major ship systems onboard naval ships. The system enables the crew to safely and efficiently to manage their ship. The automations systems are built on commercial automation platforms commonly used in industry. In order to facilitate design work as well as future upgrades and provide a set of commonly used software components, we have an automation toolbox that is continuously developed by the automation group.
