Power BI Developer (f/m/d)

The EIS Self-Serve team plays a key role in enhancing the organization’s ability to gain key business insights and optimize business decisions. We gather requirements and develop relevant reports, dashboards, scorecards, and other data visualizations in order to assist Business Units in obtaining insights and promote self-service analytics.

About the role

A Power BI developer builds, configures, customizes, integrates, implements and unit tests application solutions based on functional and technical specifications to meet quality & performance requirements.

The developer works with established Essity IT standards and methodologies. Also, serves as the channel between the customer community and the solution development teams, supporting the delivery of the necessary technology services to the business by analyzing and refining requirements.

This position can be based in our office in Ismaning / Munich (Germany) or Gothenburg (Sweden).

What You Will Do

• In PowerBI : Develop, build, configure, unit test and implement solutions based on lower level designs
• Ensure that solutions meet business objectives and requirements outlined in the design documentation
• Cooperate with other developers to make sure that the applications meet requirements and performance goals
• Implement system configuration changes based on defined solution and proposed architecture
• Ensure that developed solutions are peer reviewed and formally documented according to Essity IT standards
• Unit test the solution to ensure that it meet quality standards
• Maintain, support and repair solutions to keep them performing in accordance with technical and functional specification
• Monitor, maintain and support the Power BI platform to keep it performing in accordance with technical and functional specification
• Participate in pre-studies and breakdown of business requirements to develop comprehensive requirement specifications that will determine the estimate of cost, time and resources according to standard templates.
• Facilitate workshops or key meetings to capture business requirements and perform as-is analysis, understanding customer and user requirements
• Support development of business cases and support the portfolio prioritization process
• Continuously review and edit requirements, specifications and recommendations related to a proposed solution
• Participate in transitioning the requirements and use cases to the designers to ensure a clear and complete understanding of the solution specification
• Support implementation of to-be processes, incl. training delivery
• Contribute to finding and implementing effective solutions in a matrix organization

Who You Are

• Master’s-Bachelor degree in a relevant area and 3 – 5 years of working experience
• Experience in writing code using languages such as DAX and Mquery.
• 1.5+ years of experience designing and developing dashboards using Power BI for various organizational metrics and indicators using best practices and industry standards
• Good knowledge of SQL, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data bricks and Azure Data Lake(in terms of connectivity).
• Experience with Logic APPS for self-serve ETL
• Experience with major Big Data platforms and languages such as Python and/or R.
• Hands on experience in creating and deploying KPI, analytic, and dashboard solutions including design, development, deployment, data engineering, data warehousing, and data management projects and practices.
• Advanced understanding of modern software design and development methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a globally dispersed team and business partners
