SEB Pension & Försäkring is one of the leading life insurance companies in the Nordics with 1.8 million customers, whereof 1.3 million in Sweden. In order to keep up with the rapid changes within IT and to keep increasing the quality of our deliveries we are now looking for someone to join us in developing our data warehouse.

About the team and the job

As an ETL-developer you will join an ambitious data warehouse team that is determined to build SEB Pension & Försäkring’s next generation information platform. As a team, we take pride in delivering high quality solutions in a timely manner. Even though IT is our core competence, it is important for us to have knowledge about the business we support as well. In our team, we cover different roles such as business analyst, ETL developers and QA analysts, distributed across two geographical locations. We all come from different backgrounds and cultures but together we are a close-knit team with a joint mission – to create a second to none information platform for SEB Pension & Försäkring.

As a player in our team, you will be involved both in maintaining our existing data warehouse as well as developing our new one. Requirements gathering and creation of IT specifications is an expected part of this job.

Who are you?

I’m looking for a driven, curious person that wants to learn and adapt to new things. Since we are working in an agile set up, you should have experience working according to agile principles. In a team set up, it is important to find a balance between taking own initiative/doing things independently and working closely with other team members. Since half of our delivery team is located in Kuala Lumpur, it is important to be able to communicate well in English (verbal as well as written) and to be open to work in new and different arrangements. It will be an advantage if you have previous experience working in a distributed team across geographical locations. Occasional travel to Malaysia may also be needed.

In order to fit into this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and a minimum of 7 years of working experience in ETL development or BI related area. From a technical standpoint you should be:

- An Expert in Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS and T-SQL

- Experience with data warehouse implementations modelled using Inmon, Kimball and Anchor data models.

- Familiar with IBMs model, Insurance Information Warehouse (IIW)

- Familiar with .NET development (C#)

Clear and professional communication (both verbal and written) is an important skill for you to have. You may, for example, be expected to present ideas and solutions for a bigger group of people and to facilitate workshops with business users. Domain knowledge from insurance industry or investment banking is an advantage.
