We are now seeking a Senior System Engineer at UX operations to join the Design UX Operations team.

What you’ll do

The Design UX Operations team has the task together with our design managers to drive the user experience in the Volvo Cars Vehicle Programs, both through supporting as project managers and prototyping. The team consists of 12 people which either work as Design project managers or prototypers.

In your role as senior developer, you will be responsible to develop high fidelity interaction software and hardware prototypes for verification purposes of Interaction concepts, together with a UX designer. This could either be in a test car, production car, or a rig. A typical task would be to develop software and hardware prototype solutions for user interface solutions for a concept car. The work includes contacts with other engineering departments within Volvo and suppliers.

As a Senior System Engineer, you are expected to manage your own area and have the ability to prioritize your deliveries. You are also expected to challenge and drive new technical solutions and to support the UX design organization with facts and technical information, especially around new technologies. 

You and your skills

To be successful in this role we see that you have working experience programming in C/C++, Python, and Linux environment. You have experience with design and solder simple electrical circuits as well as experience from User Interface development and frameworks such as QT, Android are meritorious. You have experience from software development and quality assurance of embedded systems and knowledge of AUTOSAR, FlexRay, LIN, and/or CAN protocols.

You have a B.Sc. Computer Engineering, Electrical or Mechatronics. We also see that you have good communication and leadership skills. You have the ability to present technical issues/solutions for top management and an ability to understand and communicate the design intention. You are fluent in English (written and spoken).
