About the role:

In this role, you will be working with other talented people from all over the world. You will join a highly qualified cross-functional scrum team consisting of Business Analysts, Software Developers and Test Engineers. You will work with Nasdaq’s Derivatives Clearing platform where you will be responsible for the Gateway Framework used to bridge Derivatives Clearing platform with other systems. In this role, you will focus on knowledge sharing within the organization on new gateways, alignment and adherence to gateway framework, reuse of components, performance and capacity optimization, message mapping, among others.

The biggest and most interesting challenge right now is our accelerated journey toward a product offering, while at the same delivering to our customers. However, that gives you the opportunity to learn fast and work in challenging international environment. This position require technical skills and a can-do attitude, which provide a career path in own right. Having said that, the role prepares for other smooth transition into other business apps part of the Derivatives Clearing platform.

To be successful in this role, you need to have a flexible mindset and an ability to adapt when requirements are changing. We also foresee structure and a great attention to details as important in this role, along with being comfortable liaising with individual contributors, as well as getting the most out of the team.

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing solutions and writing good quality code that solves difficult problems in a highly distributed system with extreme demands on resilience and quality
  • You will be involved in all stages of the product life cycle; design, implementation, testing, release, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance and enhancement
  • Always consider performance implications when developing and refactoring code
  • Follow Nasdaq’s and projects guidelines, design principles and standards
  • Contribute with your experience and input to sprint planning, retrospectives and time estimation of features and change requests

You will bring:

  • Some years of experience with software development or recent graduate with proven strong technical skills
  • Bachelor degree in computer science (or equivalent)
  • Excellent Java (8 & 11)
  • Curiosity and a highly collaborative work style along with wanting to contribute what you already know, educate the people around you, and bravely dive into new territories
  • Passion for building great products and delivering to business and customers
  • Ability to engage and collaborate closely with external clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • A strong inner drive and motivation, thriving in a high pace environment

It would be great if you have:

  • Interest and/or experience from working in the FinTech industry
