Our Exciting Opportunity

Cloud-native application design is set to become standard practice in the telecom industry due to the major efficiency gains it can provide, particularly in terms of speeding up software upgrades and releases. We are now looking for a Developer to develop container Kubernetes microservices (generic services) following the cloud native principles.

You will be part of the Product Development Unit “Component Development” within the Business Area Digital Services. The organization is a cornerstone of the Ericsson platforms and common assets' strategy, developing components, products and microservices used by 5G applications across Ericsson. The Generic Services Unit is part of “Component Development” organization with operations in Sweden and Finland, and with a portfolio of more than 20 microservices for 5G. As a software developer you will be part of one of our agile teams in Stockholm and you will have the opportunity be exposed to a truly global experience, working with experienced engineers on cloud native, opensource, Kubernetes and microservices development.

Our focus is on Lean and Agile ways of working. We coordinate in multi-functional development teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of the daily work. Your role will include service software development along with a variety of other activities by being part of an agile development team.

You will

  • Perform continuous analysis and requirement handling from early phases to delivery
  • Develop, test and document new features as part of the service development backlog activities
  • Handle CI/CD operations for the product
  • Perform troubleshooting and customer support
  • Drive continuous improvements of products and processes

To be successful in the role we believe you need:

  • MSc in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or relevant field
  • Experience in Cloud Native (Kubernetes) technology
  • Experience in General Networking and Linux with ability to perform basic troubleshooting
  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Programming languages such as Golang, Python
  • Understanding of opensource code handling
  • Innovative mindset to adapt and respond to change
  • Knowledge/some experience in 5G
  • Ability to contribute to opensource communities
  • Ability to contribute to opensource communities
