Nasdaq Technology is looking for a Test Automation Team Lead to join the TRADExpress RealTime Clearing team. RealTime Clearing helps clearinghouses meet the ever-increasing demands for performance, quality and resilience. Our clearing system is hyper-modern and a relatively new product at Nasdaq but it has already been very successful.

In this role, you will be working with hands-on test automation in large delivery projects to clients all over the world, e.g. in Japan, the US and South Africa. We rely heavily on test automation to ensure quality and most of our testers are basically Java programmers. To be successful, deep knowledge of automation and Java will be necessary.

We are always working in close cooperation with our customers - defining test strategies and improving the test process for our delivery projects will be important parts of the job. The strategy work also includes keeping your QA team up to speed with ongoing quality initiatives within Nasdaq.

You will join a highly qualified cross-functional scrum team consisting of Business Analysts, Software Developers, DevOps Engineers, and Project Managers. Your role will typically be to support our projects with automated API tests, integration tests, regression tests and acceptance tests.

As a team lead, you will be responsible for currently eight (8) employees and contractors working within the QA area. An indication of the balance between project work and managerial tasks is roughly 70/30.

Our technology stack is Java, Swagger/OpenApi, REST, Kafka, Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, Windows and/or Linux.

Role & Responsibility:

Create, execute and maintain tests using our Java based test automation framework

Continuously improve the test QA process for our delivery projects

Lead the team through their continuous learning and improvements, including holding yearly performance reviews and giving feedback

Resolve problems and ensure that software meets specified standards, development specifications and client requirements

Plan test scenarios, ensure applicable tests are completed and create a plan for problem resolution

What We're Looking For:

Solid automation experience and Java knowledge

Strong knowledge of different test methodologies and their pros and cons, including common test concepts like Black Box, White Box, Dynamic, Static, Stress etc.

Knowledge in agile test approaches and the software development life cycle

Ability to document test strategy, test plan and test cases

Experience as a manager, team lead or similar is an advantage but not a requirement

Experience in supporting and interacting directly with clients

Experience from the financial industry

Knowledge about financial instruments, trading or clearing is meriting

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
