What do we offer?
With our mission, 'Freedom to Move', Volvo Cars is evolving to become a direct-to-consumer services provider. Future mobility solutions demand major upgrades of monitoring capabilities, predictive maintenance and vehicle health algorithms. This is accomplished by a strictly data driven way of working, competent and curious co-workers and end-to-end responsibility. The ability to read out and process data are key factors for future connected services, autonomous vehicles and next generation electrical systems. In order to provide faster feedback loops and to support the goal of “my car gets better everyday” the Vehicle data and diagnostics ART is tasked with developing and operating a toolset to request, receive, persist, and make available data from our vehicle fleet with the aim of becoming increasingly more data driven.

What do we do
Our team is building a system that will allow Volvo to feedback measurement data, e.g. images from onboard cameras, from Volvos fleet of customer vehicles.
It consists of an onboard part written in C/C++ running on a Yocto Linux and an offboard part written in Java and Python running in AWS cloud on Kubernetes and docker.

What will you do
You will develop and test the onboard and/or the offboard parts of the system in a virtual environment, in a Hardware-In-the-Loop environment and in real test vehicles.

What do you need to know
You need to be a skilled programmer with high analytical skills. You need to be good at
•    C/C++ and Python
•    and/or
•    Java and Python

You also need to have Valid European driver’s license B 

What is nice if you know
We use many tools and apply many standards. We do not expect that you know them, you will learn them on the job. Examples of tools, frameworks and standards that we use are

We work with the agile development method SAFe so an understanding or certification is meritorious.
