Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to redefine how our employees work together to change the future, and how we share that story with the world. We are looking for UX designers to create great experiences turning customer insights into impactful business solutions and great customer experiences. 

The Lead UX designer will focus on developing design strategies for Volvo’s workplace tools, communication platforms, and how that intersects with our consumer facing digital landscape. You will work with teams across the company to set a vision of our digital experiences as well as make immediate impact on what we deploy today.

Your mission 
In this role you will deliver product strategies and high-level designs based on customer insights and business needs. This includes delivering key design artifacts such as user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that balance design aesthetics with intuitive functionality. You get to develop a deep understanding of our customer needs and pain-points, serving as an expert for your product team and develop ideas for new and enhanced features. 

In a well-organized way you can communicate designs, ideas, and rationale with your team using data and customer insights. You will pro-actively work with partners across the company to understand and collect customer and business insights. As well as collaborating with other designers and ensure a seamless customer experience across Volvo’s digital landscape.

Above all you are an internal thought-leader on user experience best practices and trends.

Who you are 
We believe that you have been designing for at least 8 years for a consumer-focused tech company, so you understand what it takes to create elegant, consumer-oriented experiences. You are a versatile designer who uses a full range of skills—product design, interaction design, service design and visual design — to ensure you deliver magical experiences to the customer. You are a strategic thinker, and look for ways of simplifying the experiences for the customer across a broad spectrum of touch-points. You’re a strong communicator. Who can inspire teams towards action and empathy for the user. You are a strong collaborator, who can work with not only design patterns, but many other stakeholders from marketing to engineering. You have a people-focused design mentality. Constantly looking to hone your design instinct through user feedback. Whether that is hands-on user research or a quantitative A/B test.
