Team Lead Platform

Job Description

Watty is connecting and making sense of the world's energy data in order to help consumers and companies use energy in smarter way. Our platform already handles 20 million data points per day - and it will be your your job to continue improving our platform to handle a 1000 times more. You will be involved in the whole development cycle from planning to coding and testing to deployment. You would make sure that the development processes flows smoothly to ensure our continuous deployment. You will lead the backend team that currently has two developers and you will report to Watty’s CTO.

Without a strong passion for what we do, and for developing your own skills, you'll find the work here too difficult.

The role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership over Watty's entire platform that may well handle a significant portion of the world's energy data within the next 10 years. You'll work alongside a passionate team that has built the market leading technology in the field of disaggregation. Skills:

• Proficiency in Python

• Experience working in a TDD environment

• Git

• Linux

• Apply the right tool to the right job.

• Has a pragmatic, solution oriented personality.

• Knows when to take shortcuts and when to do things properly.

Desired skills (Bonus)

• Microservice architectures

• Experience working with RabbitMQ, Kafka and other messaging queues.

• Experience in deploying and using distributed large scale NoSQL databases, Cassandra in particular.

• Experience with PaaS, CoreOS, Docker, etc

• Arduino and embedded programming is a plus. At least on a conceptual level.

• Some familiarity with machine learning

• Experience with public clouds, i.e DigitalOcean, AWS, Google cloud.

Watty is a Swedish machine learning startup with a team of about 12 people. We speak collectively Persian, Finish, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, French and a number of Swedish dialects.
