Who are we?
Within the Volvo Cars Commercial Digital team, we work in customer-centric product teams to make Volvo Cars business fully digital. We build products and systems for Volvo Cars customers and partners, including volvocars.com, the Volvo On Call app, Care by Volvo, online sales, customer data, Volvo ID, retail and service tools, the Volvo Cars Developer Portal and APIs for building new innovative services.

The team is mainly located in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Lund, Sweden, and we also have teams in the US, India and in China. Many of the people you will be working with have experience from start-ups and global tech companies such as Spotify, Google, Ericsson, Microsoft, Tradera, Klarna, and King.

The Challenge
At Volvo Cars we are undergoing a huge transformation in our commercial system and how we do business.  It is a fundamental shift from a wholesale business model to a consumer business model. A prerequisite for this transformation to happen, is to deeply change the way we view, work with and manage consumer data.   

We are now looking for Web Developers to join our Account Portal team to develop the parts of our online experience dealing with user Account and consumer data. 

You will be a key developer of current and future online user experiences, such as Account portal, fleet management, personalization settings, account information, privacy and consent management. 

You will work in a group of skilled Product Owners, Architects, data analysts, Data Engineers, and experts, who are currently engaged in enabling Volvo Cars to offer world class customer experiences, by being truly driven by consumer data. 

This position can be in either Gothenburg or Lund.

You and your skills

You are an experienced software engineer and feel confident in designing and creating front-end and/or back-end code for modern web applications. You likely have experience of responsive interface, single-page applications and using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Next.js or Gatsby. 

You also have knowledge of HTML5 and CSS along with authoring tools & an understanding of Service Oriented Architectures. Experience of SiteCore or CMS development is also important for the role. We believe that you have a strong understanding of multiple languages, including one of C#, Java, JavaScript. Experience developing code with AWS, Azure, or other major cloud providers. Experience with Next.js, other React frameworks or Node.js Server Side Rendering. 

* BSc degree or higher in engineering, or equivalent experience
* Master the English language both spoken and in writing

You may have experience in
* Web front-end and/or back-end development
* Interaction design and UX methodologies
* Working with Git/Gerrit/Jenkins tools etc
* Agile development methods - SAFe, Scrum, Lean, Kanban, DevOps
* Test automation: Unit test frameworks, Component test frameworks
* User, data and account management 
* Commercial and transactional data
* Privacy and consent management
* Rapid prototyping
* Java, C++, Python
* Driven and self-motivated, with a strong delivery orientation
* Positive Doer mindset, focuses on opportunities as well as risks and challenge
* Problem solver, with good analytical skills
Curious, enjoys breaking new ground and trying out new ideas.
