Our Exciting Opportunity

In PDU CDS (Product Development Unit Compute and Digital Silicon), the RAN Compute Hardware and Execution Environment organization (RCHE) is responsible for design and maintenance of Digital Baseband Units in the Ericsson Radio System. The RCHE organizations' main activity is the development of Execution environment (EE) SW for a new generation of Digital Baseband units to enable 5G and Internet of Things. We are looking for a Linux System Build Developer with experience from building, integrating, and releasing Linux based systems. You will be working with a small and proficient team of senior developers with many years of experience in the area. Your responsibilities will include the development of the build system, integration and troubleshooting of Linux user and kernel space components. Our Radio Control System – Execution Environment (RCS EE) module is an enabler for baseband products in 5G.

You will

  • Work in all product development phases from early studies to verification of the Execution Environment
  • Be responsible for design, implementation and quality assurance of the build system
  • Work with integration and troubleshooting of Linux user and kernel space components
  • Participate in predevelopment projects
  • Drive improvements of products and way of working, both on your own and together with teammates
  • Work in close cooperation with other Ericsson units, that are using our Execution Environment
  • Act as an interface towards our partners for technical issues
  • Have challenging work and focus on your career development
  • Have a high standard working climate and proficient colleagues
  • Have the opportunity to work with the newest technology to enable 5G
  • Have a significant impact on the success of the Radio Base Stations in the 5G network
  • Report to R&D Line Manager

To be successful in the role you must have

  • Some years of experience of software development in a Linux environment
  • Experience in SW Integration, verification, and troubleshooting skills
  • Good skills in the Yocto build systems
  • Good C and script (e.g. Bash and Python) programming skills
  • Good knowledge of CPU architectures
  • Good understanding of common Linux development tools such as git, GNU Make, gcc, and gdb
  • Good troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Experience from CI/CD way of working, e.g. Jenkins
  • Both self-motivation and ability to work in teams
  • An eye for and dedication to deliver with quality
  • Interest/experience of working with Lean and Agile methods
