Our team currently consists of 9 engineers with different different professional backgrounds, interests and history but with one common mindset: To develop our products and ourselves! With the sea as our closest neighbor, where a lunch walk along the seaside in Arendal is an energy boosting and relaxing activity, we gather every day to secure the quality and competitiveness of our products in a fast-evolving business.
In our team, we focus on the in-house development of control units and its functionality which will be introduced in future products, currently in the development phase. Having a global responsibility, the solutions developed within the team will be found in Volvo buses all over the world helping millions of people every day to reach their destination. Imagine that as a legacy!
Our responsibility lies within a program that will deliver the next generation of products that is being developed, the main focus is to code all functions that are needed in our new control units. Together, we secure knowledge transfer and competence development to become an even higher performing team with highly passionate people.
What can we offer?
You will contribute to world-class development of a safe and comfortable future transport solution. You will be part of a small team which is focusing on one engineering project and together we will be achieving important targets.
Main area of responsibility:
You will be a part of the Embedded Control System group within the Electrical & Software Architecture Department. You will play a significant role in the development of new functionality for in-house developed control units and the main responsibilities are:
- Develop C software components that follow Autosar Standards.
- Review functions and give critical feedback to architects.
- Collaborate with software integration team and potentially work with integration.
- Continue to improve workflow.

Becoming part of our team is easy. You just need to be a skilled team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills and to be genuinely interested in product development and to share your knowledge.
B.Sc. or higher education within software engineering or similar is highly valuable as well as previous experience from SW-development (C and Python language) in the automotive industry or other agile driven industries. A solid network within Volvo Group and knowledge of our system and processes (SEWS2, SystemWeaver, KOLA, Autosar, Engineering Tool, SW Configurator etc) is an advantage.
Since you have good engineering judgment and priorities, you have the ability and interest to technically support, lead and challenge colleagues in their work and their mindset. You like to share your passion for technical solutions and you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a person you are positive, you display driving force and have a structured way of working.
