Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

What’s in it for you?
At Research and Development, you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers from around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people.

At Volvo Cars, we are striving to be world leading in Vehicle Dynamics, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) offering customers most comprehensive, convenient and safe driving as well as being the first to offer truly autonomous driving function. Before these functions can be released in customer vehicles, rigorous testing and verification of the performance and safety is required, that is, to make sure that the sensors and functions work as designed in changing and unpredictable traffic situation

As the number and complexity of ADAS and AD functions increase and new features need to be introduced more and more often, traditional testing in prototype vehicles becomes prohibitively long and expensive. Instead, virtual testing in Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) environments is used to test the software and systems faster and more efficient.

What you’ll do
Your team is responsible for Software-In-the-Loop simulation environments for Safe Vehicle Automation, focusing on the actuation and vehicle control. The team is creating, maintaining and supporting development, testing, verification and validation of Vehicle Control and Autonomous Drive functions.
You will be a key contributor, through your competence in Vehicle Dynamics simulations, to ensure the robustness and quality of our future vehicles.
As a Developer in our team, you will e.g. be
* Developing new environments and models pushing the boundaries of virtual testing
* Integrating models and software in automated virtual simulation environments
* Supporting analysis of results, validation of environments and models proving that the virtual works is up-to-par with reality
* Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams responsible for Safe Vehicle Automation and Vehicle Dynamics at Volvo Cars
* Collaborate closely with suppliers in the area of AD/ADAS/Vehicle Dynamics (e.g. Zenseact, brake and steering suppliers etc.)
*  Make test environments available for testing using Continuous Integration
