What are we doing?
The department Infotainment Platform, within Connected Experience product stream, is responsible for the development and enabling of Volvo Cars new Infotainment system powered by Android. Volvo Cars was the first company to team up with Google and develop a system together which re-thinks the nature of car infotainment, defined by a user-friendly interface and an unparalleled connectivity. A true success! The automotive industry is going through exciting times and this is an opportunity to play an important part in our software journey.
What do we offer?
Going into the next generation electrical architecture for complete car, we now have an open position for you to join the team focusing on Infotainment Park Assist Camera. A development team at Volvo Cars has ownership of complete features, which can range from HMI to business logic to low-level implementation. You will use the latest tools and technologies available and collaborate with partners and other teams to deliver state-of-the-art products. We focus on securing quality with automatic test cases running in our CI environment. Rigs and test cars are also a part of our set-up to secure the end-to-end experience.
We use agile ways of working according to SAFe, and the teams cooperate closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and UX/design. The position is based in Lund.
Who are you?
You have a background within C++ and/or Java/Kotlin and have worked with the Android framework and tool set. For this role it is also a bonus if you are familiar with Camera stack development. Quality thinking and taking ownership are part of your characteristics. You are a team-player who enjoys a challenge and feel comfortable handling complexity.
What you need to bring with you
* M.Sc in Software Engineering or corresponding relevant experience
* Experience in software development in C++ and/or Java/Kotlin
* Being familiar with UI, graphics and 3D programming (OpenGL /OpenGL ES)
* Experience in Android stack
* Writing automated unit or integration tests as a natural part of design and implementation
* Comfortable working in a Linux environment
* Experience in working with Git/Gerrit/Jenkins tools
* Good communication skills, including in English (written and spoken)

 It is meritorious if you have:
* Some knowledge in Image processing (including knowledge in different image and pixel formats)
* Experience in Automotive communication buses, CAN, Flexray etc.
* Swedish Driver’s license (B-level)
