We are now looking for a Data Engineer. You will be responsible for finding trends in data sets and to make raw data more useful. This role requires a significant set of technical skills, including a deep knowledge of SQL database design and knowledge in programming languages. You need good communication skills to work across departments to understand what business leaders want to gain from the company’s datasets, and the need to understand how to optimize data retrieval.

Are you our next hire?

As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for every step of the data process, from managing data to analyzing it. You will be working alongside data scientists to help make use of the data they collect, and also working with data warehouses across multiple databases and responsible for developing table schemas.

Your main responsibilities will be managing and organizing data, while keeping an eye out for trends or inconsistencies that will impact business goals. The need for soft skills is also important and that is to communicate data trends to others in the organization and to help the business make use of the data it collects.

  • Analyze and organize raw data
  • Build data systems and pipelines
  • Evaluate business needs and objectives
  • Interpret trends and patterns
  • Conduct raw data analysis and report on results
  • Prepare data for ingestion
  • Combine raw information from different sources
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Identify opportunities for data acquisition
  • Collaborate with data scientists and architects on several projects

To succeed in this role, we’re hoping that you have:

  • Have 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
  • Technical expertise with data models (Kimball's dimensional Modelling)
  • Knowledge of programming languages is a big plus (e.g. Scala or Python)
  • Hands-on experience with SQL database design
  • Great numerical and analytical skills
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a Master’s is a plus
