Our Exciting Opportunity

Product Development Unit (PDU) Cloud RAN (Radio Access Network) within Development Unit Networks (DNEW) ensures Ericsson’s readiness in virtualization of radio access network (RAN) solutions and complement our embedded RAN portfolio in order to serve our customers when deploying 5G. PDU Cloud RAN is building a full stack virtualization of the 5G NR CU (Central Unit) and DU (Distributed Unit) based on standard servers and cloud-native technologies.

We in Cloud RAN DU organization are responsible for 5G L1/L2 and part of Traffic Control products and functions (L3). We have a clear customer focus with commercial deliveries. We are growing our organization with skilled persons with various experiences in System Engineering and Software Development who cares about well-crafted software. We are searching for people who are eager to join us on our journey to build something truly exciting!

In this newly formed unit, we embrace a start-up mentality to deliver a product with great customer experience and increased organizational efficiency making creative and out-of-the box employees an excellent fit.

We offer an environment where you will be part of a team bringing the solutions, we develop from systemization to product introduction and release, taking an end-to-end product responsibility.

You will be part of end-to-end software development of microservices in a Cloud based Radio Access Network, with focus on requirement setting and functional systemization, but also contribution to the software implementation and verification to customer release and maintenance.

You will

• Work within a development team with all phases of product development but probably spend most of the time on the functional systemization of our microservices for the 5G Cloud RAN using the latest cloud technologies.
• Lead the technical work within a team thus define the technical solution, plan the work, interact with external parties and contribute to the implementation.
• Work collaboratively with our many teams all over the world.
• Interact with customers to understand their need and improve our products.
• Work together with a team of very experienced and highly qualified engineers.

To be successful in the role you must have

• A personality, workstyle and desire to become a technical leader within a smaller or larger technical domain.
• Experience in any of the following areas – 4G/5G call flows and functionality, Systemization, SW architecture and design, agile methods and continuous integration are beneficial.
• A creative and innovative approach and the ability to work easily with other people.
• MSc or BSc level in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent level of knowledge.
• Programming skills in programming languages such as C/C++, Java. Other programming languages are highly valuable as well.
• Excellent speaking and writing skills in English.
