Who are we?
At Cloud Adoption we are currently 12 cloud engineers divided over four teams. Here are a few bullets that describe us:

• Evangelists for cloud and new tech, open minded and forward thinking
• Challenge blockers, very few things are considered impossible
• Do not just work together, develop each other by continously challenge yourself and your colleagues
• Prestige or obstinacy is not our thing

The idea behind our teams is to have people with diverse technical backgrounds and personalities. Our various backgrounds, should be considered one of our super-powers, and currently include:

• Developers
• Solution Architects
• Infra Architects and Technicians

What is our mission?
The Cloud Adoption mission is to lead and run the cloud transformation within Scania and provide a modern development platform and be an enabler for the organization to adopt the cloud.

In practice this boils down to these major duties:

• Build a robust and secure Cloud Foundation platform
• Prevent, Detect and Respond to Cloud Security events
• Accelerate teams to Build, Run and Secure their workloads in the Cloud
• Being a “Centre of Excellence” for Cloud 

What do we offer?
As a team member of the Cloud Adoption Foundation team, you will get work with the topics mentioned above, in combination with building valuable connections with various teams across Scania. We also have a tight collaboration with AWS, MS Azure and other partners, which allows us to participate in various forums, meetings and events (AWS Summit, re:Invent, re:Inforce, MS Ignite to mention some). As part of the Volkswagen Group, Scania is one of the leaders in Cloud Development. Being a Cloud ambassador for Scania among Volkswagen brands is natural and very important for our Cloud journey.

Who are you?
As you probably guess by now, we’re not set on a specific background or set of skills. We believe that various backgrounds and competences are required, however some things are more meritorious:

•
Strong background with several years of modern software development, preferably with Python

• You are a team player and always have a positive and helpful attitude
•
You know and care about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery and automated testing

• You already have profound knowledge and experience about Cloud
• You prefer automation over manual work
• You adopt agile principles and methods in your daily work
• You see opportunities where others see obstacles
