Lead Backend Developer - Smart Charging to Tibber

About the job
The visible part of our technology is our Tibber application, an app that is loved by its users (App Store 4.9/5⭐ , Play Store 4.9/5 ⭐ ), but the magic happens behind the scenes. Our platform is built as a series of microservices hosted in AWS, and we're using technologies like lambda functions, events, and queues for communicating between services, .Net Core, Node JS, PostgreSQL, Python to name a few. For us, speed of development and setting things up for a great developer experience are guiding stars to both achieving our mission as well as simply having a lot of fun at work developing a world-class product that will propel our society towards a more sustainable and smart energy future.

Now we're on the search for a lead backend developer to start their career at Tibber developing a core area - Smart Charging. Your partner in crime for this on the product side will be the Product Manager for the Smart Charing area. The focus of this area is:

- The smart charging user experience, from the first touchpoint to the last.
- Technical integrations with car and or wall box manufacturers to maximize the number of users relying on, and loving, Smart Charging.
- Optimizing the quality and perceived experience of Smart Charging for our users.

On the engineering side, you'll be solving a larger domain to make all of this work and drive and lead the technical architecture and solutions. This will entail proactively developing and building tooling and automation to keep up to date with integrations and APIs, maintaining and building new integrations as well as being the engineering speaking partner in building long-lasting partnerships with car manufacturers and setting architecture for this together.

You will also be part of the backend chapter. A team consisting of all of Tibbers super-competent backend developers that share the same domain expertise. This team will function as a friendly sounding board for architecture, ideas, and solutions. It also serves the purpose of continuous learning and building out the mastery of best practices, new technologies, patterns, and developer experience across the domain. You'll love it.

This is you!
In order to thrive with us, we believe you have a few years of experience with backend development and that you love what you do! Of course, we consider it a big plus if you have experience with languages and frameworks that we use, such as Node.JS, Python, and C#, but if you come from a different background and are curious and willing to work with these technologies, then that's fine too! You like to adapt the language or framework depending on what the situation requires. It wouldn't hurt if you're familiar with cloud services, preferably AWS and Docker. You're not afraid of speaking your mind and you enjoy discussions where you can contribute with new and fresh ideas on how to optimize our product. You enjoy really complex tasks and you are used to efficiently handling large volumes of data. We consider it meritorious if you're already familiar with our product and have prestartup-experience.
