WHAT UTOPIANS DO

We are building a better world for music with innovative big data technology that tracks online music sources and translates them into meaningful music consumption reports for royalty collection. The solution we’re building does not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection.

WHAT YOUR ROLE WILL BE

You will be responsible for the product success of Utopia Platform, hence your success is the foundation for success of all Utopia products and the core in our aim to improve the music industry with fair pay for every play. To accomplish this you will lead a team of Product Managers responsible for all Utopia platform services such as data gathering, alignment and enrichment, copyright management, payments, accounting, user management, evaluation and forecasting. You will build, develop and grow your team, independently. You will set vision and OKRs for the Platform. You will support the CPO in setting OKRs for the product department. You will work closely with architects and engineering to set a vision for the Platform area. You will work mainly against internal stakeholders, but not entirely as you need to understand the music industry and the needs of the end customers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Make Utopia Platform a scalable, fast and reliable partner to all Product teams and business units, enabling our business to grow through a best in class data platform for the music industry.
You will build, recruit and develop a team of Senior Product Managers and Product Managers, who in turn lead Product team towards success and growth.
You will together with your team of innovative Product Managers set Product vision, roadmaps and OKRs for the Utopia Platform, and ensure that these align with both Product Teams outside your division, as well as company OKRs.
You are expected to lead while listening, ensure that you have alignment within the team and that they are up to date on our why and where we are going.
You will onboard product managers of acquired companies into your product organisation, and integrate their products into the Platform product portfolio.
You will define, communicate and debate strategy with senior executives across Utopia.

WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED

3+ years as a Director or VP of Product (or similar) in a hyper scale environment, you should have grown a product organisation or product driven company from small to large.
7+ years of product management and/or managing Product Managers.
Experience of scaling both products and product teams in an international environment.
A proven track record of successfully launching software products, taking the product from A-Z including identifying market needs, setting a product vision, identifying a Minimal Viable Product, driving UX decisions, steering technical implementation discussions, driving the go-to market, launching the product and actively working on improving the product KPI’s until it has reached the Product Market Fit.
Experience in working with data in a cloud based environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English).
You are an expert in agile product development, inspired by Marty Cagan's dual-track methodologies, and always work on improving ways of working.
You are an excellent both formal informal leader and able to drive change throughout the organisation.
